I make my CV available via my web site and various job boards, and have never really had to apply to jobs in the past, companies looking for a developer tend to find me. But I do have to deal with a massive amount of calls all day when looking for a new contract, and most of the time it is obvious that they are just scouting for potential new clients. And if they're not it is obvious that they haven't even read my CV (not that they are likely to understand most of it any way). But anyway, since I added NO AGENCIES PLEASE the amount of calls has actually gone up. Some just want to ask why I have done this, but most just ignore it.
